About the Ridge Meadows Middle Childhood Standing Committee (MCM)

The MCM Committee is a subcommittee of the Ridge Meadows Community Network.

Vision and Mission:

The Middle Childhood Matters Committee, in partnership with community, family, children/youth of the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows communities, will develop and cultivate a collaborative network that identifies and promotes initiatives which support the health and well- being of children/youth ages 6 –12 years.

Membership:

Membership is open to all ethnic cultures, organizations, and individuals who have an interest in the health and wellbeing of children aged 6 to 12 or who provide services to children aged 6 to 12.  Membership is voluntary and inclusive of participation from family members, professionals and community members.  Membership is free.

Values and Principles:

The MCM Committee shares information in a transparent and open manner. There is an effort to establish a common language and understanding that support common goals and outcomes. By actively promoting communication, the MCM Committee creates a system that values the input of all members, partners and the community as a whole. These systems help provide a context that is consistent and meaningful for new members, emerging leaders and the community as a whole.
